Format
This two-day course integrates classroom instruction, demonstrations, and practical training. Certification is awarded to participants who successfully complete the written assessment and practical assessment.

 Course Content

  • Legislation, regulation, and standards

  • Risk management in rigging operations

  • Basic rigging plans

  • Calculating load weight, sling tension, and understanding the rigging triangle

  • Rigging equipment (slings, hitches, hooks, and rigging hardware)

  • Chain blocks and lever hoists

  • Below-the-hook lifting devices

  • Pre-use inspection of rigging equipment

  • Duties and responsibilities of riggers and signal persons

  • Safe use of tag lines

  • Radio communications and hand signals

  • Practical training
