OPERATION RED NOSE

SSNS has decided to become the local Halifax Host for ORN starting in 2011. During the month of December, Operation Red Nose provides free designated driver services to motorists who have simply had too much holiday cheer, or who are too tired to drive! Operation Red Nose has 55,000 volunteers in Canada and provided rides to 80,000 each year. There are 9 host cities in the Maritimes. Stay tuned for more information and let us know if you would like to volunteer!!

MOTORCYCLE AWARENESS MONTH & EVENTS

May is Motorcycle Awareness Month and Safety Services Nova Scotia participates in a variety of safety awareness events and demos through the province. Our team of experienced motorcycle instructors travel the province attending rallies and events promoting safe motorcycling, protective clothing and collision avoidance techniques.

PREVENT ALCOHOL & RISK RELATED TRAUMA IN YOUTH

SSNS facilitates and coordinates P.A.R.T.Y. in HRM. It is designed to educate students about the consequences of risk and injury. It is one of the few evidence based injury prevention resources available for teenagers. P.A.R.T.Y. uses a DVD, interactive exercises and training facilitators to deliver the injury prevention message. SSNS’s Driver Education Courses include P.A.R.T.Y.!
