As part of our annual start to the Motorcycle riding season we are once again planning a May Motorcycle Awareness launch.
This year Safety Services Nova Scotia, Halifax Regional Police Integrated Traffic Unit, and The Province Of Nova Scotia would like to invite you to participate in this ceremony. The ceremony is to improve driver awareness of increased motorcycle traffic on Nova Scotia roads at this time of year.
The ceremony to launch May as Motorcycle Awareness Month will take place May 1,2013, 9:30am, located at Safety Services Nova Scotia's office, 201 Brownlow Ave. Burnside, Dartmouth NS. Included in the launch will be the reading of the proclamation, proclaiming May as Motorcycle Awareness Month in the Province Of Nova Scotia. Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal will be on hand to read the proclamation to a cross section of motorcycle users and riders.
Designating May as Motorcycle Awareness Month will help all drivers realize the importance of being extra alert at this time of
year.
We invite the media and public to attend to help us all in getting the word out to not only motorcyclists, but all highway users that we want our roads to be a safe place for all to enjoy.
In addition to the reading of the proclamation, Halifax Regional Police Integrated Traffic Unit will lead a short guided group
ride through Burnside Park to help bring awareness to Motorcycle Safety.
Safety Services Nova Scotia will host a barbeque for all to enjoy.
