An audit is a snapshot of the organization’s safety-related activities at any given time and is used to measure either an element of the safety program or the entire safety program. SSNS utilizes a formal document process that has been approved by the Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Labour. It captures key OH&S program elements.
Our team of experienced auditors work with you and your employees to measure and assess your program and provide clear guidance to improvement. These services include compliance inspections, gap analysis, systems audits, and more… Identify strengths, weakness and opportunities for improvement; focus on solutions; demonstrate organizational commitment both to regulators and employees; and provides a structured plan and direction. .
There are three main types of audits and inspections:
- Safety Systems Audit
- Compliance Audit – Provincial, Federal and International Acts / Regulations
- Providing Hazard Assessments and Workplace Inspections
Organizations have SSNS perform third party audits because:
- It is part of their Continuous Improvement System
- It provides unbiased and new eyes examining processes that may not apply in the changing environment
- It will ensure good standing with their Regulator and provide proof of Due Diligence
- It is part of the ‘Certificate of Recognition’ program
